With warmer weather and melting snow packs, bears start to leave their dens and they'll be hungry and searching for whatever food may be available to them.
If you don't want bears in your yard, don't provide them with a meal.
- Make sure your garbage is stored securely.
- After using your BBQ, clean up the grease trap and grill.
- Put away your bird feeders.
- Don't leave pet food outside.
Bears are always hungry and always searching for food. If a bear finds something to eat in your yard, it will remember and may return to look for more.
When bears are out and about, carry your bear spray and/or a noisemaker and remain vigilant when outdoors.
